Disney Channel India began broadcasting in 2004. All internationally broadcast shows are available with English and Hindi audio, while locally produced shows are available in Hindi only.

Disney Channel India is a 24-hour general entertainment television network in the India that taps into the world of children through original series and movies, plus contemporary acquired programming. It is marketed solely to children under or of the age of 15. Currently available on basic cable and satellite.

The channel organised a My School rocks contest , where teams from participating schools had to perform to the Hindi version of Getcha head in the game from High School Musical.The eventual winner , St.Xavier's, Mumbai ,were directed in a music video by Saroj Khan .
