Diskeeper, often abbreviated DK, is a disk defragmenter for Microsoft Windows. It is the flagship product of Diskeeper Corporation, (formerly Executive Software) of Glendale, California, founded on July 22, 1981.
The bundled defragmenter for the Windows XP operating system is a stripped-down, early version of Diskeeper.
The Diskeeper blog was launched in 2005. The knowledge center, which indexes product manuals and white papers concerning various areas such as research and the impact of file system fragmentation, was revised in November 2005.

[edit] Features
The major new feature in Diskeeper 2007 is Automatic Defragmentation. Automatic Defragmentation defragments files on-the-fly, there is no need to schedule a time to defragment as InvisiTasking(TM) technology automatically handles defragmentation with idle resources.
Another feature in Diskeeper 2007 include I-FAAST 2. According to Diskeeper Corporation, this feature serves to evaluate IDE, SATA, SCSI and RAID hard drives based on a series of benchmarks. When enabled, I-FAAST determines the frequency of file usage. Diskeeper's defragmenting behaviour then changes according to file usage to accelerate the most frequently accessed files. A specific defragmentation job is scheduled dedicated to moving files according to their frequency usage. This also helps prevent future fragmentation. The I-FAAST feature is available in Professional Premier, Server and Administrator versions only.
There are six versions available: Home, Professional, Professional Premier, Server Standard, Server Enterprise and Administrator. Diskeeper recently released Diskeeper 2007 for the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system.
