Disk Busters Association
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The “Disk Busters Association” or “The DBA” for short, was a disk magazine and demo group from the Netherlands. Although demos were never their strong suit they are mostly remembered for the "DBA disk magazine" (1991 - 1996). This disk magazine was coder-orientated and enjoyed much popularity in the Atari scene. Many of the contributions to the magazine came from this scene.
DBA disk magazine was one of the first disk magazines on the Atari ST and Atari Falcon that used colour graphics in the text viewer, split screen resolution and a fully graphical interface. As a demo scene magazine it featured intros from various demo groups. The most famous being the intro by Synergy (issue 6) with the fantastic SID tune from Scavenger. DBA Issue 14 had a fantastic intro by Lazer/Inter.
Somewhere around 1995, "DBA disk mag" teamed up with Maggie and ST News and formed the short lived Magnetic Interlude. Although the DBA disk magazine disbanded in 1996, there was one final release under the FUN label. The FUN issue contained mostly left over material from DBA.
