Discovery Elementary is an alternative public elementary school in Surrey, British Columbia part of School District 36 Surrey. It is a very good schools for those who want to learn at their own pace and in a safe setting. It was founded about forty years ago by parents and teachers. It is based on the Adlarian philosophy. There are no desks as the students sit in a cricle on the floor. They sit in a circle because then everyone is equal in the circle of learning. It is a better way to see everyone and communicate. There are chairs in the computer room and sofas in the library. The school boosts a library of over 25,000 books, both non-fiction and fiction.
