Mission

The mission of Dirigo High School is to be a safe and respectful community with a rigorous and diverse curriculum that offers opportunities for students to develop skills, gain knowledge and aspire to make life long productive choices.

Philosophy

The philosophy of Dirigo High School is an extension of MSAD # 21ā€™s vision statement. The high school years are a time of transition between youth and adulthood in which students must acquire knowledge and skills to develop independence, maturity, and a sense of responsibility. The challenge at Dirigo High School is to facilitate this transition by providing program relevant to the broad range of student needs, interests, abilities, and aspirations, and to maintain a school environment that supports this diversity.

[edit] Dirigo High School's song

Cheer, Cheer for Dirigo High

Our school will never say die

We'll march on to victory

And the victors we will be.

Rah! Rah! Rah!

We'll never falter, we'll never fall

We'll fight for honor

And that is all

Come on Team, we've got to fight

For the Dirigo blue and white

Rah! Rah! Rah!

Dirigo Lady Cougar's Basketball History

The Dirigo Lady Cougars' basketball team has had over a decade of success, due to the arrival of Coach Gavin Kane. Since 1995 he has lead the Lady Cougars to 11 straight Mountain Valley Conference (MVC) titles for a total of 12 , 11 straight Western Maine titles for a total of 12, and 6 out of 13 State Championships. Dirigo has been a dominate high school basketball team in the past decade. The Lady Cougars rely on a great defense, and love to trap opposing teams and run a fast-break offense. The Lady Cougars have been gifted with several players to make the 1,000 point club.
