From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dirck Barendsz (Amsterdam, 1534 - Amsterdam, 1592) was a Dutch painter. After having received instructions from his father, who was also a painter, though of very moderate merit, he went to Italy at the age of twenty-one, and formed an intimate friendship with Titian. He remained in Italy seven years.
His best work is said to have been a Judith.
