Dionisis Papagiannopoulos

Dionisis Papagiannopoulos (1912 in Diakofto, Peloponnese -April 17, 1984) was a popular actor in Greece.

Papagiannopoulos took part in several theatre roles but he specialized in comedy. He participated in dozens of Greek films of the old era in Greek cinema.

One of his featured roles was as "Mr George" on the film "O Kir Giorgis ekpaidevetai" ("Mr George in training"). His hero tried to come across as a rich man, though he is a poor and illiterate brewer. The same role continued on TV, where from 1974 to 1981, Papagiannopoulos starred on "Luna Park", a legendary TV series of Greek TV. The director was Giannis Dalianidis.

Papagiannopoulos enjoyed a successful career, but he didn't played any non-comedy acts.

He died in his sleep on 17 April, 1984. He lived as a recluse, so people found his body, on a chair, three days after his death.
