Diocese of Raphoe (Roman Catholic)

The (Roman Catholic) Diocese of Raphoe encompasses the bulk of County Donegal in the north west of Ireland. It contains 33 parishes and is the see of the bishop of Raphoe, whose residence is the Parochial House located near St. Eunan's Cathedral in Letterkenny. The Cathedral for the diocese of Raphoe is located next to the Parochial House in Letterkenny. The Cathedral is dedicated to the joint patrons of the diocese - Saints Eunan (also known as Adomnan) and Columcille (also known as Columba). The present bishop of Raphoe is Dr Philip Boyce, OCD. He was installed as bishop on 1st October 1995.
