Diocesan College (Definition)

A Diocesan College usually refers to a secondary level academic institution, usually an all-boys school, governed by the Roman Catholic Bishop of a diocese. Diocesan Colleges were built primarily as junior seminaries to train young main for the Roman Catholic priesthood. In Ireland, every diocese has a diocesan college; some have more than one.
In Canon Law a college[1] refers to a collection of persons united together for a common object so as to form one body.
