Dino Dini
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dino Dini (born June 5, 1965) is a musician, singer and songwriter who happens to also be a computer game developer specializing in football games, which is the field he is most known for. Dini is most noted for being the creator of two extremely successful sports game brands: Kick Off and Player Manager. These redefined the football action and management games, and have influenced virtually all football (soccer) games ever since.[citation needed] Dini himself was not a football fan, he just started to work with Kick Off since ANCO asked him to make a football game.
[edit] Later career
Dini worked also in on a new football game to be published by Microprose from 1995 to 1996.
In 1996, Dini went to the United States.
Dini returned to England in April 2001 and is working with his new development company, Abundant Software.
Dini was working with DC studios personnel on site at Bristol on a new soccer game code-named "Soccer 3" and later called Total Control Football until the summer of 2005, where the relationship between Dini and DC Studios is rumoured to have broken down, despite the development of a fully playable prototype.
Dini has since worked as a contractor together with other companies on a government funded project, details of which are unknown. It is not clear if he intends to write any more football games.
In recent years Dini has been re-developing his love and talents for music, and many examples of his work are available on the website for his band, Dini-Blandford-Davis[1].
