Dinapore was a British colony in Bihar. It is located on the bank of River Ganges, and is very near to Patna, the capital city of Bihar.

After independence it has been a major cantt of the Indian army, currently it is known as Danapur, and it is still the place where one of the glorious regiments, the "Bihar Regiment" resides.
