Talk:DIM Hypothesis
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This page represents a poor understanding of the DIM Hypothesis in at least three ways:
- The hypothesis is not about concept formation, but rather about theory formation.
- Integration, disintegration and misintegration do not have to do with applying (or failing to apply) principles to concrete situations. Again, the terms refer to the formation of theories, such as in physics or history. In particular, disintegration is not synonymous with pragmatism.
- I don't think it's correct to say that the distinction between 1 and 2 (as in M1 vs. M2) is whether some method is applied as a matter of principle. It has to do with the consistency of the approach and how much of the "I" approach (integration) is mixed in.
Don't have time to rewrite the article in an accurate way now, but wanted to note these errors for the moment.
