Dimapur-Chumukedima

Dimapur-Chumukedima refers to the urban hub centred around Dimapur with suburbs stretching all along the NH-39 from Dimapur up to Chumukedima. It is located in Dimapur district of Nagaland.Chumukedima is the district headquarter of Dimapur district while Dimapur city has emerged as the main commercial centre of Nagaland. The last two decades have seen a population boom of Dimapur city and continuous settlements have spilled out towards Chumukedima. In fact Dimapur city's population has tripled over the last 20 years and is one of the fastest growing urban centre in India. According to 2001 census, Dimapur city's population stands at 108,000 while Dimapur-Chumukedima population is around 202,000.Today, it is the largest urban hub in Nagaland.
