Dilithium is not fictional: http://webmineral.com/data/Dilithium.shtml The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.86.161.87 (talk • contribs) 22:00, 28 January 2006 (UTC).

That's Dilithium Telluride, the page is poorly written. -- stillnotelf has a talk page 01:06, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
  • dilithium exists and is not fictional see MO diagram, it is also the name for a mineral lithium telluride and by googling dilithium you will find countless links to dilithium compounds , suggest making dilithium a disambiguation page. V8rik 23:04, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
I don't think that a disambiguation page is appropriate – it seems unlikely that there will be an article written about the real-world substance, at least in the near future. However, it does seem wrong that the article starts out by stating that the substance is fictional, and only later admitting that it is real as well – this is obviously misleading. Someone split out the Star Trek usage to Dilithium (Star Trek), leaving the real-world material at Dilithium, despite the fact that 90% of the incoming links were pointing at the STar Trek usage. I've thus moved Dilithium to Dilithum (real) and made Dilithium just be a dab page. I think there would be a good case moving dilithium (Star Trek) to Dilithium and having a dab note at the top, but i don't want to cross that bridge right now. I think that is a load of shit. If dilithium is a real compound then the article linked to 'dilithium' should be the real world compound and not the fictional one.
