Dihun

Dihun is one of the 47 woredas in the Somali Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Fiq Zone, Dihun is bordered on the south by the Gode Zone, on the west by the Shebelle River which separates it from the Oromia Region, on the northwest by Hamero, on the northeast by Segeg, and on the east by the Degehabur Zone. The major town in Dihun is Geresley.

This woreda is primarily inhabited by the Darod clan of the Somali people.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 34,772, of whom 15,964 were males and 18,808 were females; 1,715 or 4.93% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 11.6%. Information is not available on the area of Dihun, so its density cannot be calculated.[1]
