Category:Digital audio

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Digital audio is sound (usually music) which is recorded (or converted) and stored in a digitised format. Digital audio can be stored on a compact disc, audio CD, audio DVD, DAT tape, or as a computer file. Playing equipment then decodes the stored signal.

As of 2005, lots of the music is downloaded from the internet in the MP3 format, onto USB storage devices for light weight portablility. Other players use CD or DVD, superceeding the cassette tape player. The Home Theater now has a specialized computer with a hard drive to have lots of music stored in a small space.
