Dieting myth
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dieting myth is a common misconception of the strategies that help to achieve weight loss and then maintain a healthy weight. In general, a fad diet is also a dieting myth. Sometimes, dieting myths are created on purpose to boost sales of a product as a diet aid.
The most common dieting myths include:
- Crash dieting
- Fad diets like, for example, the Grapefruit diet
- Skipping meals
- Rapid weight loss without exercises and diet changes
- Fat-burning foods
