Die Burger is a daily Afrikaans language newspaper, published by Naspers. As of 2005, it had a circulation of about 97,717 in the Western and Eastern Cape Provinces of South Africa. Die Burger, was a newspaper which supported the nationalist cause and apartheid, and used to be the mouthpiece of the National Party of South Africa. Its long-time affiliation with the National Party of South Africa has ended (as has the party) and has disavowed apartheid.
