[edit] Alec Baldwin?

The article mentions Mr. Baldwin having a cameo in the movie, however I can't find any mention of him on IMDB or an obvious return through Google.

Is he really in the movie? iKato 22:12, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

I've watched the movie (and the credits) five times, but I've never seen any appearance or mention of Alec Baldwin credited or uncredited. Check the Internet Movie Database and check filmography around the year of 1990. It'll show you he wasn't in it. However, Dick Van Dyke appeared as a district attorney, and Dustin Hoffman made a memorable secondary performance as Mumbles, the slow talking, yet hardened hitman for Big Boy Caprice. I too have never heard of Alec Baldwin being in this movie. --MatthewUND(talk) 20:43, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sequel

I understood the film to have been a disappointment, financially speaking. If it made such a large return on the initial investment does anyone know why a sequel wasn't made? 193.129.65.37 04:14, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Another group wants to make a Dick Tracy television series, while Warren Beatty wants to make a sequel to the film. The contract he signed guaranteed a sequel, provided that the film was a success. Made for $35 million and $12 million in advertising, it grossed $104 million dollars in North America, more than double the budget altogether.

Technically, since it was a success, Beatty appears to have the right to make a sequel to the film, but it'll most likely be played by a younger actor, now that he's on the verge of turning 70! He's trying to kick their asses in court over the rights.

As perhaps the biggest fan of this movie in the world, I would love nothing more than to see a sequel. --MatthewUND(talk) 20:41, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
As of now (mid-2006), Beatty is in court and got the go-ahead with the lawsuit. Hopefully, he will make a sequel or maybe a prequel. Check YouTube, there's a fantastic fan-made trailer of a Tracy Prequel of Daniel Craig as Tracy! That would rock! --Jonathan.Bruce 12:31, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
