From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dick Purtan (born Paul Richard Purtan) is the morning radio show host on WOMC-FM serving the Detroit, Michigan USA radio market. Purtan was previously a disc jockey at WKNR-AM (1965-67), WXYZ-AM (1968-78), CKLW-AM (1978-83), and WCZY-FM which became WKQI-FM in 1989 (1983-96). Previous to coming to Detroit at WKNR "Keener 13" in 1965, Purtan worked at WOLF-AM in Syracuse, NY and WSAI in Cincinnati; he began his radio career in his hometown of Buffalo, NY and also worked for a very short time at WBAL in Baltimore (only to leave the station after his witty, sardonic humor clashed with the station's conservative ownership). Purtan is an inductee into the Radio Hall of Fame. He also played a role in the movie Beverly Hills Cop III with Eddie Murphy..
