Dick Buckley

Dick Buckley is the host of the jazz program, Jazz with Dick Buckley, on Chicago Public Radio. The program, which plays on Sunday afternoons, has been on the air since 1977. Concurrently, he hosted another jazz program on WXFM in the early eighties.
Buckley had previously been involved with jazz shows on WAIT, WNIB, and WAAF. Born in 1925, he serves Chicago Public Radio as an independent contractor and has been on the airwaves in Chicago since 1956. His current show at the public radio station has been shortened to an hour from three hours and reformatted as of Jan. 14, 2007, as part of the station's restructuring to news and public affairs programs.
