Richard Lee Bass (March 15, 1937 - February 1, 2006) was an American football running back who played for the Los Angeles Rams from 1960 to 1969. Born in Georgetown, Mississippi, he was named to the Pro Bowl three times. He died at age 68 in Norwalk, California. He was the father of Monster Kody Scott alias Sanyika Shakur, an Eight Tray Crip who wrote the book Monster:The autobiography of an L.A. gang member
