Dick Baney

Richard Lee Baney (born November 1, 1946, in Fullerton, California) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. The right-hander was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 1st round (9th pick) of the 1966 amateur draft (Secondary Phase), and later drafted by the Seattle Pilots from the Red Sox as the 33rd pick in the 1968 expansion draft. He played for the Pilots (1969) and the Cincinnati Reds (1973-1974).

The majority of his 42 appearances was as a relief pitcher, and started 3 games. He finished his career with a total of 4 wins, 1 loss, 3 saves, 15 games finished, and an ERA of 4.28 in 90.1 innings pitched.

After his retirement as a player, Baney went into business with his father as a general contractor. As of 2006, he was living in Tustin, California and working as a real estate investor and property manager.[1]
