I noticed you made quite a few contributions to the Gryps Conflict article and was wondering if perhaps you would be interested in helping with the creation of a Gundam Wiki website within the Wikicities. It would serve as a strictly Gundam resource for the massive amounts of information concerning the various Gundam series, perhaps even subdivided into the separate Gundam universes. I'm searching for contributors and supports alike and have begun an advertisement drive throughout a part of the USA Gundam fanbase. Regarding a couple of reverts you did changing {{StargateTopics|StargateTech}} back to {{StargateTech}}{{Stargate Topics}}, I'd just like to point out:

  • They make the same thing.
  • The former is easier, and better especially for standardisation.
  • The changes I made to the articles were cosmetically no different. Previous to my additions, all articles with {{StargateTech}} were followed automatically by {{StargateTopics}}; this just does it in a much better way that also allows for 3 templates on one page.

So unless there is a real problem that I've overseen please don't change the template syntaxes back to the old, more clumsy and troublesome way. Thanks. -- Alfakim --  talk  18:51, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

you've been doing some great work on the Digimon articles and the image additions are great. Remember to provide the URL of the web site you found the image on (even if the image is found on multiple web sites) on the image's description. Recently a few Digimon-related images were almost deleted because there wasn't sufficient source information, so providing as much info as you can will help protect the images you added from deletion. -- Ned Scott 02:58, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to the Digimon Systems Update WikiProject

Thanks for joining the project! Actually, there really isn't a join or not joined, the list of participants is more of a way for us to be able to find other users who are interested in working on the project. Anyone can work on the articles or the WikiProject even if their names are not listed on the page. But doing so you should take some things into consideration. Basically, being apart of a WikiProject means you'll uphold standards and guidelines that the group comes up with, as well as guidelines that our parent group comes up with, WikiProject Anime and manga. Also it's good to familiarize yourself with the basics of Wikipedia, such as those found in your welcome message found above this message. But don't be afraid of making mistakes or worry about following guidelines a whole lot. Wikipedia has a lot and it's a lot to take in. Just use common sense and make good faith efforts to follow the guidelines, no one is expected to know all of them, and sometimes they don't even apply, so you don't really know until you make an edit. If you are unsure about something you can always make a note on it's discussion page (the link for each article's discussion page is next to the edit this page link) for asking for help or even just asking for other people's suggestions and feedback.

So far on our WikiProject we don't have a lot of guidelines formally set out yet, but you'll find most of this kind of stuff being talked about on the talk page (remember to place for ~~~~ after your messages, this will automatically insert your name and the date of the message).

Remember to not violate copyrights, such as cutting and pasting from other Digimon websites isn't allowed. Instead, re-write the information so it becomes an original work. And remember that Wikipedia isn't a fan-site, the articles should contain information that is useful and interesting to those who have not seen the shows or played the card games. There's a lot of work to be done to clean up existing articles, so you might notice that most Digimon articles currently don't follow all the guidelines (as it is, most of the guidelines are being worked out still). But again, don't worry too much about it unless it's a major change (such as deleting a whole section or changing information on a large group of articles, and even then it's no big deal because we can always revert to an older version if anything gets messed up).

So, again, welcome to the WikiProject. Check out the links on the Project page for what we have so far, and definitely check out the talk page and get involved there as well with opinions and any ideas you have. Hello!

Thanks for uploading some pictures to Wikipedia. I wanted to make sure you were aware of some of the requirements and good practices for uploaded images.

  • Pick an image name.
When uploading an image, pick a file name that is descriptive, and unique. Remember that many images may be uploaded about the same topic, and remember that names are case sensitive.
  • Source the image.
On the image description page, explain where the image came from. If you created the image yourself, then say so. If it's from the web, give a URL. If it's a screenshot of a movie or game, or a scan from a book, give the title.
  • Provide copyright and license information.
This part is a little bit trickier, but it's very important. The copyright of the image generally belongs to whomever created it.
If it's a photograph you took, or an image you created (modifying an image that already exists doesn't count) in software like Photoshop or GIMP, then you own the copyright. To upload it to Wikipedia, you must agree to license it under the GFDL (which allows anyone to use it, but requires that they give credit to the original author and requires that any further edit to the image be licensed under the GFDL as well) or release it into the public domain (which allows anyone to use it for any purpose without restriction.) Do this by placing an appropriate tag on the image description page, like {{GFDL}} or {{PD}}. Be sure to mention that you created the image. If you're using {{PD}}, you may also want to use {{NoRightsReserved}}, since there is some dispute as to whether one may grant items into the public domain.
If you didn't create the image, or the copyright somehow belongs to another party (like a screenshot, which you might "create", but the copyright belongs to the author of the movie or video game), then you need to find another tag that describes the copyright status of the image. Images used on Wikipedia need to be free for our use and the use of sites which reproduce our content. This means that images cannot have a restriction such as "only for use by Wikipedia", or "for non-commercial use only", or "for educational use". Images without a free license may be usable in certain articles under fair use, but such a use should be justified on the image description page.
  • Describe the image.
To another reader, the image may not be immediately understood. A caption in an article doesn't explain the image to a visitor who sees it on its image page. Put a brief explanation of what is in the image on the image description page, similar to what you might include in a caption on an article.

[edit] Stargate SG-1 Episode Edits

Hey, I'm a new member, though longtime user and un-registered editor of articles. I noticed the number of Stargate stubs and decided that I'd try to clean a few of them up, especially the season 1-8 epsiodes (I've seen all of those but nothing on 9 or 10). So far I've completely changed Meridian, Sentinel and Menace, three of somewhere around 200 episodes, but I'll get there eventually. I was wondering if there's a sort of Stargate community within wikipedia that I should contact, you sorted out some of the mistakes I made in Meridian, so I thought I ought to contact you so that you can direct me to someone who might like to work with me, just to review what I edit? If you're going to make the article for V-Tamer characters, you'll notice some of the digimon who you'd want in it have already been turned into redirects. So for example, the stuff on LordHolyAngemon was on the MagnaAngemon article, which i think i've already turned into a redirect to the Patamon article.

I've been keeping track of just about all the -mon articles - for any article that's been turned into a redirect, i've been preserving any information that i think may be needed again in articles at my userspace (User_talk:Saintmagician/Scrapbook). So for example, i've got the LordHolyAngemon section from the old MagnaAngemon article kept there.

This'll probably be easier for you than having to dig through old versions of those articles. --`/aksha 10:34, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

With the V-Tamer digimon characters, for some of them, we have things like "Pie the Piedmon" and "Omega the Omnimon".

Are those actually names? Like, is "Pie" actually the name of the Piedmon from V-Tamer? Or is it just some kind of a title? In the manga, do the Digimon get called the names? (as in, is Veedramon called "Veedramon" or "Zeromaru"? is the Piedmon called "Piedmon" or "Pie"?)

Because if those are actually names, then we should be using them for the section titles (so the "Piedmon" section should be called "Pie" if "Pie" is actually his name). --`/aksha 10:36, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

I was wondering that since you have done alot of merging could you check mine to make sure I am doing it right. I have done Birdramon and Garudamon in Biyomon and Bukamon and Ikkakumon in Gomamon.
