[edit] Image
can anyone make sure that this image is placed in the right way? I don't know how to handle it, that's why I'm asking (Gero)
- I'm not sure this is what you meant, but maybe I've arranged things. --Jotomicron | talk 13:39, 20 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Paragraphs?
Can I suggest that the subtopics be rewritten in paragraph form?
- I kind of like that idea. If no one objects, I may do it. Sometime in the near future when I have some time. Although it might help just to take out the parts that have N/A. It would clean up the look. : ) Kam Tonnes 23:55, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Gringotts Vaults
Where did someone get vault numbers for Harry and Sirius? We need a source for this, because I haven't seen it in the books. -- Kam Tonnes 04:52, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Borgin and Burkes edit
The earlier version said that Draco and Lucius Malfoy were trying to sell Tom Riddle's diary. I'm pretty sure the diary was the object that Mr. Malfoy said was NOT for sale. He intended to give it to Ginny or someone to get it to Hogwarts, not sell it at B&Bs. -- Kam Tonnes 04:21, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Editing for excess, unrelated information
Diagon Alley is obviously a very long and involved article. It seems like we should be careful not to include off-topic information that just adds to length. With that intent, I cut the following
- "(Hogsmeade also qualifies as a commercial hub; its main street especially is crowded with wizard shops, pubs, teashops and stores of all kinds)"
This is really about Hogsmeade, not Diagon Alley. I also took out some descriptions that seem to be based on point of view that aren't explicitly supported in the books. For instance, saying that The Leaky Cauldron was built just for the purpose of allowing access to Diagon Alley. Do we really know that? Do we really know that Twilfitt and Tattings is an expensive shop? We could assume that perhaps, but I'd rather keep to facts from the books. Hope I haven't offended. [edit] Punctuation
I've double-checked in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the store is "Borgin and Burkes" (no apostrophe), not "Borgin and Burke's" like you might think. Also, am I correct in thinking that British English does not use a "period" or "full stop" after titles such as Mr and Mrs and Dr? If so, articles about Harry Potter should probably not have them either. See the Wikipedia Manual of Style suggestions on this. Kam Tonnes 01:35, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
Just to confirm: you are correct about Mr and Mrs having no '.' in BE. Skittle 15:12, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Borgin and Burkes
Should borgin and burkes really be here, seeing as it is in Knockturn Alley not Diagon Alley...? Sotakeit 19:58, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Removed paragraph
I removed this, that appeared straight after the 'spoiler' warning, as it made no sense. What shop?
The shop appeared first in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets when Harry accidentally arrived there after a bad Floo powder journey.CS Ch.4 A scene was in the book though cut from the movie (found on DVD in deleted scenes) where Harry sees Draco Malfoy and Lucius Malfoy in the shop. Harry hides in a cupboard from which he observes Mr. Malfoy trying to sell something to the store. The shop also played an important role in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Draco Malfoy bought a mysterious object at the start of the book. He used this and other objects purchased at Borgin and Burkes to further his plans. In his private lessons with Albus Dumbledore, Harry learned that Merope Gaunt sold Salazar Slytherin's locket to the owners and that Voldemort worked here after he had finished his years at Hogwarts.

[edit] Weasley's Wizard Wheezes
The article Weasley's Wizard Wheezes contains much of the same information. Should the section on this page be merged with the article, or vice versa? There is enough information concerning the store that I believe it would be appropriate for the article to have its own page. - PoliticalJunkie 15:02, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] PA Ch.5
What does PA Ch.5 mean? It's in a couple of Harry Potter articles.
- "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", Chapter 5? "PS" being "Philosopher's Stone", "CS" being "Chamber of Secrets", etc... But it should probably be made clear in the article, since it is unreasonable to expect readers to know which abbreviation is being used. (I usually see POA for Prisoner of Azkaban) Skittle 15:43, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Split Diagon shops
I've proposed that the list of shops be split off into something like List of Diagon Alley shops. It's quite long and doesn't really speak much to Diagon Alley, the street, which is what this article is about. Wl219 03:51, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
