Diane Tebelius

Diane Tebelius was the chairman of the Washington State Republican Party from 2006 to 2007. She suceeded Chris Vance, and was defeated for reelection by former State Senator Luke Esser. Previously, she ran for Congress in 2004, and lost the primary election to Dave Reichert, who went on to win the general election.
Tebelius was special counsel to the U.S. Senate Budget Committee in 1981 to work on President Ronald Reagan's first budget and tax proposal. She left this position to join the Justice Department as a federal prosecutor in the area of tax.
She was born in 1948 on a North Dakota wheat farm and married Robert McCallum in 1985.
She earned a History degree and teaching certificate from Walla Walla College. She holds a law degree and a Masters in Taxation. Tebelius is an attorney and a former federal prosecutor. She lives with her husband in Bellevue, Washington.
