Diana Keppel, Countess of Albemarle

Dame Diana Keppel, Countess of Albemarle, DBE (b. 6 August 1909), the daughter of Major John Archibald Grove and his wife, Mrs. Cicely Grove.

She married Walter Egerton George Lucian Keppel, 9th Earl of Albemarle, son of Lt.-Col. Arnold Allen Cecil Keppel, 8th Earl of Albemarle and Lady Gertrude Lucia Egerton, on 24 February 1931 in Scots Church, St. Columba, Pont Street, Chelsea, London.

Born as Diana Cicely Grove, she was educated at the Sherborne School for Girls, Sherborne, Dorset. As a result of her marriage, Diana Cicely Grove was styled as the Countess of Albemarle on 12 April 1942.

She was Chairman of the Albemarle Report on Youth and Development in the Community in 1948. She was invested as a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in 1956.

She graduated from Reading University in 1959 with the degree of honorary Doctor of Litterature (D.Litt.). She graduated from the University of London in 1960 with the degree of honorary Doctor of Law (LL.D.). She graduated from Oxford University in 1960 with the degree of honorary Doctor of Civil Laws (DCL).

As of 1999, she was living in Seymours, Melton, Woodbridge, Suffolk, England.

She is a noted British Roman Catholic layperson([1]) although it is not clear whether this is by cradle or conversion.
