Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

On return home Ruth discovers Angela, her late stepbrother's girlfriend, in her living room. Her stepbrother had been working for the Royal Protection Squad, had been fired and this led him to commit suicide. He believed that a committee of high ranking intelligence officers had deemed Diana a loose cannon after her divorce and so arranged her death to prevent the leak of any embarrassing details. Angela comes to Thames House to meet the team, but once inside reveals that her handbag contains a bomb which she will detonate unless Adam and the others can prove that Diana was assassinated. The detonator is pressure sensitive so if she releases the button the bomb will go off. They initiate a lock down on her orders and work through the night. Harry denies the claim personally but she doesn't believe him. Eventually they discover a piece of microfilm detailing the minutes of a meeting of which Harry was a part of, which seems to include the death of Diana. Zaf begins to believe it. Angela remains with Jo in the briefing room, and ignores Jo's attempts to talk her round, whilst Colin & Malcolm try to tunnel out through an air vent. Unfortunately they run into iron bars. Angela discovers this and nearly detonates the bomb, telling them that she wants to die, so they'd better not give her further reason. Ruth confronts Harry about the microfilm and he admits there was such a committee, although it was set up to deal with worst case scenarios like Diana's death, but it didn't actually kill her. Ruth then goes to Angela who in desperation releases the detonator. Nothing happens. Malcolm reveals it was a dodgy detonator, and Angela is given carte blanche because she was an ex-Spook. She agrees to seek psychiatric help. However the team realises she's gone after the Royal Family, probably with another bomb, and so immediately evacuate them to Pegasus, a shelter under Clarence House. Things escalate when they discover she'd been working there as an electrician for months and wired the entire building with explosives. Malcolm tries to cut the wires as the seconds pass, but freezes and Adam cuts it for him. However back at Thames house he tells everyone it was Malcolm. The episode ends with Adam and Harry stepping out from a car when a shot rings out, shattering the glass. We see a glimpse of a hand reloading the rifle, ejecting the cartridge. Another shot rebounds off the car. Harry and Adam spin round, looking for the shooter. Adam tells Harry to getdown and is swiftly hit in the back. Harry glances at Adam who is choking on blood and sees Angela's blond hair from a rooftop, behind the scope. She reloads.
