Hi, I took your survey, but there seems to be an error in your PHP; it gave me the following after I pressed "submit"
- Warning: mail() [function.mail]: Failed to connect to mailserver at "192.168.254.100" port 25,
- verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini :or use ini_set() in e:\phpsurveyor\index.php on line 957

- Yup, I have the same problem. Let us know whether it worked nonetheless or whether we should re-take the survey, ok? ^^ -- Schneelocke (cheeks clone) [[]] 19:43, 21 Nov 2004 (UTC)
I took the survey and had no problems. But I do hope if you are trying to do any kind of statisitcal analysis with the data that you don't use any analysis that assumes a random sample. The population in question is a highly biased one, those that volunteer are likely to have strong opinions. Nothing wrong with that as long as you take it into account in the analysis. I'm curious as to the results of the survey, please let us all know. - Taxman 17:39, Nov 24, 2004 (UTC)
- I'd like to second that concern about random samples. I would have liked to take the survey (bias), but I only just learned about it. I'm not a regular reader of Wikipedia:Announcements, which is the only place I've seen it mentioned (population filtering). Furthermore, the announcement said the survey would go through December 10, but an update says it's now closed (erroneous instructions). It's hard to see how one will extract meaningful data from this. Nevertheless, I'd also love to know what you find. — Jeff Q 20:08, 6 Dec 2004 (UTC)
