Dhirubhai Ambani International School

The Dhirubhai Ambani International School is an elite school in Mumbai built by the Reliance Industries Limited, named after the late patriach of the conglomerate, Dhirubhai Ambani.Currently it is under the chairpersonship of Nita Ambani. The school was built in 2003, and is one of the few in India that offer the International Baccalaureate Program. The school is located in the upmarket, G-Block of Bandra-Kurla complex.

Unlike most school programmes in India that focus on rote learning, schooling is done through projects, drawing, story-telling and role-play. The school has a current strength of 1,000 with a faculty of more than 100 members.

The Dhirubhai Ambani International School, more commonly known as DAIS among students has been one of the rare schools to set itself an international reputation in quality IB and IGCSE education. The IGCSE, Cambridge results (i.e., the Tenth Grade), in its first year - 2006 were shown to be outstanding. It is now ranked as the best IGCSE school in Asia (for 2006). Meanwhile, students with an IB Diploma from the school are gaining entry into renowned universities such as the Ivy League in USA, Cambridge, Oxford and LSE (London School of Economics) in the UK.
