[edit] Dfpc's examples of Internet Censorship

[edit] About this section

This is a historical list of incidents of Internet Censorship that are NOT covered by the broad categories outlined in Internet Censorship. I'm not interested in the thousands of examples of School Libraries censoring pornography sites or China censoring dissident sites, those are adequately covered by the main Internet Censorship article.

[edit] Purpose

Researchers need a list of such incidents. I hope someday this section may be merged into a mainline Wikipedia article, spun off into a non-Wikipedia web site under the Wikipedia license, or kept here.

[edit] Who can edit this section

You can. Please add examples with citations. Please do not remove material: If material is inaccurate, strike it out but do not delete it. I'll clean it up from time to time.

[edit] Special topic: Censorship within Wikipedia

Note: This is specifically for cases where the Wikipedia administration has allegedly taken action to silence critics or in alleged violation of Wikipedia policies. Most people making such allegations are victims or their sympathizers. These entries should be taken with a grain of salt.

  • [Alleged censorship] within Wikipedia surrounding highly controversial topics. Note: Author is a banned Wikipedia editor.
