Dextro
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dextro is the Scottish electronic music production alias of Scottish producer and multi-instrumentalist Ewan Mackenzie (also the drummer/keyboard player from the band Snowblood). Under the Dextro moniker he has released a number of works, most notably the album Consequence Music and the 12" single Do You Need Help. His music is primarily melodic and richly layered electronica, that while making nods to heroes Brian Eno, Neu and Phillip Glass is distinctly a sound of his own.
The music of Dextro is often referred to as an audio representation of quiet hills and open spaces, and contains distinct celtic musical references. With a strong focus on ambient music coupled with the rhythms of Hip hop and Reggae dextro builds layers of sonically enhanced moods comprising of acoustic guitars, pianos, bass parts and nostalgic field sounds.
