Dexippus was a Greek philosopher, a follower of the Neoplatonist Iamblichus, belonging to the middle of the fourth century A.D. He wrote commentaries on Plato and Aristotle, of which one, in explanation and defense of the Aristotelian categories, has appeared in both Latin and Greek texts. The former, under the title Quœstionum in Categorias Libri Tres, was edited by Félicien (Paris, 1549); the latter by Spengel (Munich, 1859).
