Developer and Platform Evangelism (DPE) is the unit within Microsoft that is responsible for communicating Microsoft's strategic direction for platform developers, and for evangelising the latest development tools and technologies.

DPE Roles

Developer Evangelist: Responsible for Visual Studio, .NET, and anything to do with developers full stop.
IT Pro: Responsible for platform infrastructure evangelism.
