DeVern Fromke

DeVern Fromke, President of Sure Foundation Publishers,[1] and Ministry of Life literature outreach, is an evangelical writer and teacher. He has had a significant influence on the thought and spirituality of many Christians, particularly within the Higher Life and Charismatic movements.

DeVern Fromke studied at Seattle Pacific University. After graudating worked with Youth for Christ before teaching in several high schools and serving as headmaster of Heritage Christian School. Over a period of more than 50 years he and his wife Juanita ministered in Brazil, New Zealand, Europe and Japan. His first wife has sinced passed away, and he is now married to Ruth with whom he resides in Indianapolis, where he continues to write in the field of Christian spirituality.
Fromke writes in the higher life tradition of Theodore Austin-Sparks, his spiritual mentor[2], but his work also served as a springboard for many within the charismatic movement, particularly among British Restorationists such as David Lillie and Barney Coombs.[3] Along with Austin-Sparks and Stephen Kaung he inspired many in the Atlantic States Christian Convocations of the mid-1960s.[4]
