[edit] See also

I understand the desire to create links to an interesting page like List of treaties, but I think that adding it in the form of a "See also" section to every treaty that makes that list is excessive and can detract from the individual articles. "See also" sections in general are only useful in a few circumstances and most great articles do not have them: all the topics they would contain are duly mentioned in the text. I'd like you to reconsider this. Srnec 04:33, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Adding a "See also" section in every treaty article allows for users to take the time, if possible, and read articles that are related to the treaty in question. Moreover, every treaty that has a "See also" section stimulates users in providing helpful contributions to other articles. However, if you really think that "See also" sections are very distracting, then I will not hinder anyone's attempts in having them removed. Thank you for your honesty. Deucalionite 21:20, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
My main concern is that a "See also" section should not contain a link that is only very indirectly related to the specific topic of that article. A list of treaties, while interesting and useful, is not directly related to any but the specific treaty at hand (and perhaps a few others, but certainly not the majority listed). But don't worry, I won't be going around reverting them, I only wish to give you pause to think. Srnec 06:55, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Honestly, I am not worried about having the "See also" sections removed. I put "See also" sections mostly because it has become a habit for me to do so. I do thank you, however, for providing some feedback. If anything, why don't you join the treaties project and help out? You can literally choose any task you feel would benefit the overall project. Currently, my job is to collect, write, and organize as many treaties as possible. Though the majority of the treaties I have submitted are article stubs, one needs to acknowledge the fact that there exist literally thousands of treaties. My hands, for now, are tied. I would really need new project members I can rely on to double-check the treaties I submit. Moreover, I need someone to finish the treaties template. There are, simply put, many positions that need to be manned. Overall, whatever services you can provide to the project will be most appreciated. Over and out. Deucalionite 18:30, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Maniots

I left some comments concerning the nomination of Maniots as a good article; it appears that you have made a significant number of edits on that page. The concerns from the previous nomination were hardly adressed; making it pretty easy for me to point out what was wrong. I plan on failing the nomination in the next 24-48 if it appeas no work is being done on it. - PhoenixTwo 04:31, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Maniots

For future reference, please remember to add {{GAnominee}} to article talk pages when nominationg them for that status. -Phoenix 17:36, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Deucalionite, we have finally brought this article to GA level. I think we both deserve a pat on the back. I think we should am not to stop here but to bring this article to FA. What do you think? Please contact me on my talk page. Geia sou. Kyriakos 23:40, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Peer-reviews

I see you have initiated a series of peer-reviews. I laud you interest in improving these articles, but are you ready to support these peer-reviews and follow all of them at the same time implementing the reviewers' proposals? Whenever I went for a peer-review in a course of a FA nomination, I always concentrated myself on it, and sometimes it demanded a total concentration and dedication of forces in order to implement all the proposals. Maybe a tactic of one at the time after discussing with the articles' editors would be more effective. Cheers!--Yannismarou 17:51, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

The question isn't about how dedicated I will be towards every article I have placed on the peer-review list. The question should be focused towards how many people we can attract into contributing towards the articles I have listed. The strategy might sound strange, but it has the potential to succeed. My purpose is to simply expose users who often check the peer-review list to go and contribute to the articles I have listed. Of course, I would be more than happy to contribute in any way I can (my first objective will be to enhance the Maniots article along with Kyriakos). Besides, I am only listing the WikiProject Greece GA class and A-class articles. I hope my strategy works. If it doesn't, then the only consequence I will probably face is getting banned (maybe permanently). Well, it was nice talking to you. Deucalionite 18:11, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Well, I did not know that banning is one of the consequences that a peer-review nominator could face?! Καλή Ανάσταση!--Yannismarou 18:16, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Trust me, my social experiments on Wikipedia have made me the target of almost every kind of ban (except the permanent variety). Take care adelphe, Happy Easter, and good luck with the Battle of Greece article. Deucalionite 18:22, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
