Detective Ridley is a fictional character on the ABC television series, Desperate Housewives. The character is played by Ernie Hudson.
Ridley is the detective who is investigating Monique's murder. He suspects Mike Delfino of killing her, as his phone number was written on her hand. He manages to get a search warrent to search Mike's house but they find no tool box. When Karen McCluskey gives Mike his toolbox back Mike tries to bury it in the forest, however Detective Ridley catches him. Mike is arrested for Monique's murder. When Alma Hodge falls off the roof to her death and Monique's teeth and the suicide note is also there, Detective Ridley must drop the charges against Mike. The two part ways with a handshake.
