Messhermit
I have no idea whether you are right or wrong, but you should probably have asked him directly whether these edits were his before pursuing it this way. Not that you are not allowed to go this way; it just might have saved time and effort if he said "yes". - Jmabel | Talk 03:06, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
I have something I'd like to say to you off the record, but you don't accept Wikipedia email. Could you email me so that I can email you back? Thanks. - Jmabel | Talk 00:39, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Dear User:Descendall I appreciate all of your efforts regarding User:Messhermit's conduct on the Wikipedia encyclopedic project. Your steadfast work has contributed to the clarification of User:Messhermit's disingenuous edits, not to mention his inappropriate commentary. Saludos--User:bdean1963 28 October 2006

Hi. I'm not 100% sure myself if the party still exists, however possibly yes. Why? Becaue I believe that they were active up to 2002-3, at least, but I have never heard about them on a national level for a long time. They may still exist on a local level (town councils or so), though I can't confirm it right now. Juancarlos2004 08:28, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure either, but if this can help, Colombian political parties system went thru a lot of changes, (It's no longer bipartisan) I think they had to collect signatures and get sufficient support from the population in order to achieve a political PARTY status, so I think they still exist but as a political organization (the same thing happened to Ingrid Betancourt's party Partido Verde Oxigeno. Again, I'm not sure.--F3rn4nd0 18:40, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
My Editor Review

Simpson book article
Thanks for changing the paragraph about the authorship of that dreadful book, but I must correct you about your edit summary. it was *not* patently false as recently as this morning. Both Harper and Amazon listed the author as "None" and "Sam Jones". I only put in what I found there, and even included a reference directly to HarperCollins. Jeffpw 18:57, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- No problem, and it wasn't uncivil at all. Just wanted to let you know I had checked it--I thought it was weird, myself. Jeffpw 19:49, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
Peruvian Armed Forces
Hello! I've seen your move from Peruvian Army / Navy to Army / Navy of Peru. I don't think that change is correct, almost every army, air force and navy in Wikipedia is named in the format Nationality + Army/Navy/Air Force, see for instance the Navies by country category. Greetings. --Victor12 00:03, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Pls check User talk:Victor12. --Victor12 21:22, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Pls check User talk:Victor12 again. --Victor12 18:39, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- Don't worry, the main thing I want is getting the broadest possible consensus about this point (either way it goes). Greetings. --Victor12 01:49, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

I award you this barnstar for your exceptional and underappreciated work on Shining Path.Cúchullain t/c 06:24, 27 November 2006 (UTC) |
I was waiting to give you this until the mediation case was settled; I guess a closing is good enough. Anyway, terrific work!--Cúchullain t/c 06:24, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'm sorry to hear you won't be around as much any more, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Shining Path has definitely improved since you've been working on it, and our articles on Peru have greatly benefited from having you here. We'll do our best to keep it up to snuff.--Cúchullain t/c 03:49, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Masts
You are awesome!Obina 20:14, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Good Morning!
I was disappointed to see what I believe to be WP:uncivil comments bearing your signatue in the Gladys discussion.
A couple of requests:
Would you be kind enough to read wP:notability and cite the portions of that policy which are not met?
Would you be kind enough to define the term "artist" and cite the support for your argument to the contrary?
Finally, would you please adopt a neutral tone regarding all this as in "no personal atttacks"
This would have been cooler if I knew how to make the wiki-links on the above.
Have a wiki-day!--James.lebinski 10:23, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Masts for deletion
Hello. As the closing admin, I'm notifying the most active contributors to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/University of North Carolina Tower Chapel Hill, which has now been closed, in case they want to take any action about it. Best, Sandstein 11:58, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dan James Pantone
Hi, Descendall. I hate to say it but I think we're off to a bad start. I'm concerned that we're already headed into a discussion of Matses' motivations and behaviors, going so far as to call MATSES a scam. The AfD should be about the article and whether it meets Wikipedia's requirements for inclusion. The AfD shuld not be about the editor that wrote the article or whether one likes or dislikes Dr. Pantone.
I also don't think you'll get this article deleted. There are going to be others such as myself that see a lot of gray and not so much black and white as you do in the botanists' discussion of Dr. Pantone's notability. There a number of editors that believe that, when in doubt, articles should not be deleted and they monitor the daily lists of AfDs. (See m:Inclusionism and m:Association of Inclusionist Wikipedians). If they see an AfD that's not open and shut, they will flock to it and try to do what they can to save the article -- rewriting as necessary, looking for better references, etc. They also vote to keep articles unless lack of notability is definitively proven.
I strongly urge you to consider just dropping this AfD for now until we can all calm down and take a breath. Otherwise, we're headed for a messy trainwreck we're all going to regret.
Thanks, --A. B. (talk) 06:14, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Please don't leave
Descendall, I don't know you but can see that you've been upset by something that you might look back on at some time in the future and think was trivial. Right now its a big thing and I understand. Can I suggest you take some time off from Wikipedia, but please come back. Your work is appreciated and important. —Moondyne 03:02, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- I second the above. What is this all about anyway? Please don't tell me MONGO and now you....too many good users are being lost.--Jersey Devil 04:58, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

- Well, I added you to Missing Wikipedians, since you've been gone for (almost) a month. I hope you'll come back some day, but until then, best of luck to you.--Cúchullain t/c 21:57, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Me
Well, I'm glad you're not gone. I removed your name from the missing Wikipedians list. Sorry to hear about your troubles with Pantone/Matses, I know dealing with users who actively edit their own articles can get ugly. Anyway, it's good to see you around again.--Cúchullain t/c 08:45, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
List of Peruvian Presidents Article
Both users have been blocked for 48 hours. It is like as if they go looking for each other to have edit wars. They completely ruin page histories by doing this. They have also been warned several times to stop this by myself regarding this. Keep a look out on other articles to see if this continues and alert me if you see it going on. I am going to go ask the admins on AN/I on how we should attempt to resolve this issue. Thank you.--Jersey Devil 20:23, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- He was told several times before to stop edit warring with Messhermit and he was specifically told that if such action continued he'd be blocked. I won't unblock him but he has put up an unblock request which will notify other admins. I remind you that the last time I blocked him he disputed the block in much the same way he is doing now and his unblock request was denied by another admin on that occasion.--Jersey Devil 05:50, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

- Well, I'm going through my spring semester term at the moment so I don't have much time to devote to the Wikiproject, though I will say that Walter's recent changes to the project page have been good. Things like that, the banners, the assessment, the activity on the talk page, etc.. are all good for the project. I've also seen an increase in members recently. In reality, in comparison to the other Latin American country wikiprojects we are in pretty good standing. The Argies have a pretty good thing going, namely because of the sheer number of Argentinians here (also, many of them are quite active and make very good contributions). Yeah, it would be good to get pictures from Peru, I haven't been there is so long (last time was like 4 years ago). Great place though, such a laid back attitude, could just drink the night away at the bars...without all the snow.... :) P.S. Why are you considering moving there?--Jersey Devil 08:29, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

- Yeah, I commented on that video (Y2ANJ). Really incredible how a group of teenagers can fool themselves into thinking that any anti-West group is by virtue "good". Or that things are so simple that they can be broken down into absolutes of "good" vs "evil".--Jersey Devil 09:27, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Your userpage
Your userpage says, "Unfortunately Descendall has retired as a Wikipedia editor and will not be returning." However, given your recent contribution history, it would appear that this statement is misleading. Can you change and/or remove it? TML 06:54, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
