Talk:Deserts and xeric shrublands
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
what's with the picture of the sword? I really think that is a little weird in this case.
- Agreed. Very odd. I removed it. Anthere
- This was caused by someone uploading a new version of Image:Sword.jpg. Originally it was a picture of a Hawaiian silversword. I have replaced the pic and its description using Image:Silversword_Haleakala.jpg instead. SCHZMO ✍ 02:47, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
Please do not assimilate this biome to desert. Anthere
- Then what is the relation with Desert? We can also add those contents here. And why capital X and S? - Patrick 11:46 23 May 2003 (UTC)

- I had never realised for the capitalized letters. This is wrong yes. The first problem is this biome encompass much more than simple desert. So putting any description of xeric shrublands in the desert article would not been quite right. The second problem with it is that biome is used in the wikiproject to describe the 800 or so ecoregions. This biome is actually one of the key *defining* the ecoregions. if you remove the key, the description is no more accurate. It is a classification key. Do you see what I mean ? This said I agree the information is likely to be redundant with desert. But I don't think people would agree redirecting desert to this page either. Idea ? ant

- I also think this article should focus more on what defines this biome, while the desert article could focus more on the different types of deserts plus examples as now
