[edit] But where have alle the NS-children gone?
Congratulations with excellent war children work! But I do think that the millions of european NS-children are vanished into the shadow of theirs parents. That is not right, and somewhat misguiding. The reason for this slip is perhaps the absence of generation conflict, which in this case is very strong, espescially among the NS war children. If it weren't for the NS-children which I have added, there woulden't have been anye topic NS-children at all, and no article about war children .User:Eric Haig
- I agree. In my opinion the fate of children of collaborators (NS children) should have their own sub section in each main section in the War children article. Their fate, and reasons for their fate, were similar to the fate of children of a parent belonging to an enemy force, yet, they had their own experiences. Links to persons should be included in the article. Once that article gets more meat, a Descendants of Nazi Collaborators (example) article may be warranted. I will not have time to work any more on War Children ATM, I'll be doing this one first . Add what you know in War Children (or here). Steve Hart 01:55, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Second Generation Nazis
Steve Hart attacks the Nazi children topic with eagerness. Having initiated the taboo topic in this people's encyclopedia, I have been interested in seeing the article's development. Necessarily with people's confused knowledge around the reality of satanized children, the article has over time become messy. Steve Hart has taken his turn with the horrible subject. In a denazified Europe there shall be no such creatures as Nazi children. There shall only be free "descendants". Surviving Nazi children have sentiments which are intolerable. They might also have wrong opinions about themselves and their social and political surroundings. They should not be allowed to write in a thoroughly objective people's encyclopedia... Therefore Mr. Hart has replaced them with "War children" and "Descendants", as others have done before him with other appellations. We Nazi children appreciate all these persons' strive. Mr. Hart is not so much interested in Norwegian Nazi children but in real stuff : Nazi Officials - met through descendants. I permit myself to give him and other encyclopedia writers an advice : Descendants of German Nazi Officials have suffered and are still suffering under the denazifying Western regime. They should be given an opportunity to express themselves freely. They are not dead yet, and Mr. Hart should show them respect. I feel myself as a servant for the descendants of German Nazi officials. We Norwegian Nazi descendants have not been as repressed as the German Nazi children. Therefore we have been able to take the freedom of expression back from the victors' rough regime. May German Nazi descendants write their feelings and opinions in this "free" people's encyclopedia. - This is a misunderstanding. The orginal article, Children of the Nazi era (or Nazi children) had three problems: a) mixing famous children of German nazi officials with the fate of largely unknown children of collaborators and soldiers outside Germany, b) factual errors and few cites, and c) bad article title. I cleaned up the article by giving it a proper name, correcting errors, and splitting off the topic about the children of nazi officials to the article Descendants of Nazi Officials. The other topic, about children of collaborators and soldiers, is found at War children. Note that the presence of war children is not only a European WWII phenomenon, it's global issue and therefore should be told from a global perspective. The info I added to War children during the update was mainly about children of soldiers, hence there's less info percentage wise about children of collaborators. I expect others to add more info about this. I have nothing against the children of collaborators and have no reason to see their story untold. -- Steve Hart 19:08, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- A second note: As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia is about facts, not people's "feelings" - no matter how valid those may be. -- Steve Hart 21:06, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- Update: As I just wrote on Talk:War children, we're discussing both the war children in historical context, and related events, and war children's internal struggle and their place in society today. A third dimension is the political affiliation of some war children, particularly those who are nationalists and feel history has been rewritten by the WWII victors. But such information (about their political ideas) belong, imo, in other articles, like Nationalism or European traditionalism, etc. They are by no means a united political movement with a distinct ideology. The reason why they are not visble in the public political debate today is simple: The public at large doesn't agree with their views. --- Steve Hart 20:02, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

I've moved one comment related to War children to Talk:War children. This is:

[edit] Invisible history
The European Nazi children are getting more and more invisible in Wikipedia. Now they are mixed with general war children who have no relation to Holocaust Guilt. This development since the original appearance of the topic is natural in a Western culture based on black and white history writing. One hundred million Nazi and Fascist descendants have disappeared from the Western political stage. Are they absent because of views belonging to public at large ? They are of course absent because of ongoing denazification. Wikipedia is just an ordinary executor of actual policy of invisibilization. Kluwer 10:23, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
