I took the liberty of removing the phrase "formerly Rand, Illinois" from the beginning of the article. If Des Plaines had been incorporated as Rand at some point, I could see the point in keeping it there, but since that's not the case, it seems to me that the brief designation as Rand would be better stated in a "history" section of the article.
