Despised Icon is a band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada which plays a combination of metalcore, grindcore, and death metal commonly called deathcore. They are noted for use of two full-time vocalists, one who sings low to high pitch screams (Alex Erian), and the other for the extremely low growling (Steve Marois).

Their first show in the United States was in Port Huron, Michigan at the North Grotto.
Despised Icon have played with bands such as The Red Chord, Hatebreed, Deicide, The Black Dahlia Murder, Suffocation, Cryptopsy, Aborted, Killswitch Engage, Morbid Angel, Behemoth, Ion Dissonance, Pig Destroyer, Rotten Sound, Napalm Death, and Job For A Cowboy
The band takes influence from Dying Fetus, Between the Buried and Me, Nile, Pantera, Suffocation, and Hatebreed.
Alex Erian played drums in Neuraxis and on Despised Icon's Consumed by Your Poison.
Eric Jarrin plays guitar in the prog band Heaven's Cry.
The band is currently (as of January 2007) recording their new album at the Projecson recording studio, in Rouyn-Noranda.
