Desperado is the second album by the American rock band Eagles. It was recorded at Island Studios in London, UK and released in 1973. It's a concept album, based on the "Dalton" gang, ambiented in the Old West.
Although the title track is one of the Eagles' signature songs, it was never released as a single. The album did yield two other singles: "Tequila Sunrise" and "Outlaw Man."

- Ken Hirai - He sang a cover version of "Desperado" in his big hit single B-side of "Hitomi wo Tojite".
- Linda Ronstadt - covered the song "Desperado" in her 1973 album Don't Cry Now
- Clint Black - covered the song "Desperado" for an Eagles tribute album involving various modern country artists.
- Johnny Cash - covered the song "Desperado" on his 2002 album American IV: The Man Comes Around
- The professional wrestler Terry Funk used "Desperado" (both the Eagles' original as well as Clint Black's cover version) as his entrance music in Extreme Championship Wrestling.
- The character Elaine Benes dated a man who was obsessed with the song "Desperado" on the 1990s NBC sitcom Seinfeld.
- The character Grace Adler quoted from the song "Desperado" ("You've been out riding fences for so long now / Oh, you're a hard one / But I know that you've got your reasons") while breaking up with a boyfriend on a 2001 episode of the NBC sitcom Will & Grace.
- The Dead - covered "Desperado" on their 2004 summer tour, with Warren Haynes on lead vocal. They debuted the song at Deer Creek Music Center in Noblesville, IN. on 7.25.04. Prior to playing the song, Bob Weir dedicated this to Linda Ronstadt, who had also covered the song and had been unceremoniously cut short at a performance in Las Vegas for criticizing George W. Bush just days before.
- Pat Tillman - The US Army Ranger and former NFL football player killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan loved the song "Desperado". At his memorial service, Tillman's brother Richard noted that it was his favorite song, and it was played near the conclusion of the service.
