Desnogorsk

Desnogorsk (Russian: Десного́рск) is a town in Smolensk Oblast, Russia, located on the right bank of the Desna River some 153 km southeast of Smolensk, at . Population: 32,100 (2005 est.); 32,070 (2002 Census).
Desnogorsk was founded as a settlement around the Smolensk nuclear power plant in 1974. It was granted town status in 1989.
