Designation Scheme

In England, under the Designation Scheme, a number of important collections in non-national museums have been chosen to be "designated collections". This designated status gives access to the Designation Challenge Fund (DCF).

The scheme was launched by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) in 1997.
