Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery

Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery (CPMS) is a college of Des Moines University (DMU) in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. The college is one of three colleges making up the University. The others are the College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) and the College of Health Sciences (CHS). CPMS was the first podiatric college in the United States to completely integrate studies with an accredited medical school. Graduates earn a D.P.M. degree. CPMS students during their first year share curricula, classrooms, and grading scales with the osteopathic medical students. CPMS students consistently score above the national average on standardized board exams (National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners). The faculty/first-year student ratio is 1:6. Current students hail from 22 different states and grads live in all 50 states. The campus includes the Des Moines University Foot and Ankle Institute which boasts the largest team of foot and ankle surgeons in the state.
