Desmond Kingsley (Des) Clarke was a fictional character in the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Paul Keane. He first appeared in Episode One in 1985 until the character's departure in 1990.
In 2003, when Des's son Jamie returned to the show, it was revealed that Des had suffered a nervous breakdown the year previous and had been admitted to a mental hospital.
