DeSoto West Junior High School (DeSoto, Texas)

DeSoto West Junior High School is a public school in DeSoto, Texas (USA). It is part of the DeSoto Independent School District.
Located at 800 North Westmoreland Road, the school serves students in grades seven and eight that reside in western DeSoto and the Dallas County portion of Glenn Heights.
DeSoto West opened in 1987 as the district's second junior high school.

As of the 2005-2006 school year, DeSoto West had a total of 827 students (77.4% African American, 8.9% White, 12.6% Hispanic, 0.8% Asian, and 0.2% Native American).

In the 2005-2006 school year, DeSoto ISD began a mandatory school uniform policy at all of its schools.

Based on the accountability ratings released by the Texas Education Agency on August 1, 2006, DeSoto West Junior High is currently rated "Academically Acceptable".
