DeSoto East Junior High School (DeSoto, Texas)

DeSoto East Junior High School is a public school in DeSoto, Texas (USA). It is part of the DeSoto Independent School District.
Located at 601 East Belt Line Road, the school serves students in grades seven and eight that reside in eastern DeSoto.
The campus now known as DeSoto East Junior High opened in 1962. It served as the district's high school from 1962 until 1976, when the high school moved to its current location at 600 Eagle Drive. That year, the campus became DeSoto Junior High School, serving grades seven and eight. When DeSoto West Junior High School opened in 1987, the campus took on its current name.

As of the 2005-2006 school year, DeSoto East had a total of 637 students (80.4% African American, 12.2% Hispanic, and 7.4% White).

In the 2005-2006 school year, DeSoto ISD began a mandatory school uniform policy at all of its schools.

Based on the accountability ratings released by the Texas Education Agency on August 1, 2006, DeSoto East Junior High is currently rated "Academically Acceptable".
