If you want to know about me, you really should meet me sometime. I know that's not really possible except in fortuitous circumstances, but I'm not one of those people who translate well into binary. I suppose that may be because I am too complex and nonlinear, but there are those people who think computers are intellectualy superior to humans; I have been a computer technician before and I can tell you for a fact that computers will always need a human around to tell them what to do. If you don't believe me, then consider how we are to proram morals into a computer when we cannot seem to decide amongst ourselves what those morals should be. Are we to sit through a war between computers to find out?

If you can't tell, I am very intelligent. And no, I do not suffer from a case of megalomania. Facts are facts, and one mustn't turn away from the truth in order to satisfy modesty. I also seem to others to be incapable of holding a conversation without rambling, but that is only because I go where the next thought leads me. I've always been a fan of intellectual exploration, and I am quite ready to take others on the journey with me.

I am a sometime poet, longtime philosopher, and ever a scientist. I try always to be nice to others, but I don't tolerate intellectual laxity very well (and neither do I believe others have a right to be stupid). I am quite the pedant, especially when it comes to English grammar and spelling. I have at times been accused of perfectionism, but I am only a precisionist; my perfectionism has been reformed. I also tend to adhere to my principles very strongly, so if you would like to convince me I am wrong, you should have your proof ready - or at least you should have strong, credible evidence.

Please feel free to chat with me sometime or to edit my contributions as you see fit; please also excercise the utmost courtesy in doing so, as I will with you. I learned my manners from a very strong mother and I mistakenly expect others to conform to my notions of good behavior, so if you have poor manners I will educate you swiftly.

EDIT: Now, I may be lambasted for saying this, but I honestly think that Wikipedia has grown too large and too popular not to enforce registration of some sort before allowing people to edit. Why? Well, the one major criticism of Wikipedia that I can agree with is a lack of accountability. I have seen enough vandalism by anonymous users by now (some of it constituting libel) that it is becoming fairly clear to me that the accountability problems will soon be out of control, if they aren't already. It's a sad day when Wikipedia, of all sites, has to become policed, but Jimbo's vision is apparently far too utopian for our current world society to handle responsibly. So, to all you who have treated Wikipedia as a joke or as some forum to express your own biases, you can thank yourselves for the utopian vision of Wikipedia coming to an end, one way or another.
